In order to install tracking codes on the website, one needs to learn how to install a plugin on wordpress. Plugins are like apps for your website which helps you add new features such as contact form, shopping cart etc.
Step 2: How to Install a WordPress plugin?
First thing you need to know is, you cannot install a plugin on wordpress.com if you have not subscribed or purchased the business plan. On the other hand, you can install any plugin you want on your self hosted WordPress.org.
WordPress.org is an open source, free, easy to use software. You can customize themes and add any plugin you want.
There are three different ways with which you can install a plugin on wordpress.org.

Step 3: How to Install a Plugin using Plugin Search?

- Login to your website backend using username and password.
- Go to Plugins and on the top right corner, click on the search bar.
- Header and Footer is the name of the Plugin.
- Click on Add new and Key in the name of the plug in.
- On the top corner it shows ACTIVE because it is installed but when it shows up after you search you will get an option INSTALL NOW.
- After you click on Install Now, It would take about 15 minutes to install the plugin on the website.

- Go to the Settings option under the plugins on the toolbar on the left.
- Choose Insert Headers and Footers.
